  1. I was 14, it was a lovely morning, and I remember it seeming eerily clear that day. My freshman class and I were supposed to be going on our class retreat, and we were actually loading up the buses to get ready when we were all called in for an emergency school meeting. Obviously, we didn't go on the trip, and I remember just sort of floating through the rest of the day until my mom was able to come get me from school. No one could make a call on their phones, because everyone and their mom was freaking out all over the country, making calls to everyone they knew.

I guess it impacted my life, because it was the first time I thought that maybe we are never as safe as we believe ourselves to be. It was a real indication of how some of the rest of the world felt about us. It has impacted my life because of the 2 wars we are tangled in right now (well... I guess just one now, oh joy...); it makes me think of the people I know and care about who serve in the armed forces in every capacity. I think that September 11 for me was an event that was indirectly personal in so many ways.

  2. Tho very few thing strike fear in me Sept.11 is one that did just that. Asleep in the bed with the t.v. on broadcasting the entire event I experienced the whole thing in my dream only to wake up in a cold sweat and face a disturbing reality, my nightmare was not just the a nightmare. That moment... that moment grew a fear in me that I will always remember.
